there are 2 interfaces on the d60r
you do not say which cable you are using
the usb should install IF you have loaded the usb driver
when you plug into a usb port of the computer FOR THE FIRST TIME, it should identify the plotter and install the driver if it is preloaded, or prompt you for a disk
the second time you plug into a usb port, NOTHING WILL HAPPEN (in device manager, you will see a "composite device" a polite word for a paper weight, non functional
you can unplug the usb cord from the computer port, DELETE the composite device and try again, but the usb drive should always be preloaded first

if you use a serial port (9 pin dsub) this is a dumb device, you need to make the settings match in 3 different places. i can try to walk you through this, but i am not a summa guy, we have done dozens of rolands and graphtecs, but i would need to do some reading and learn the default settings

another thing, if you use a usb - serial adapter the usb end is plug and play & the 9 pin dsub end is a dumb device, so you still need to know your settings.

if you want to try later this afternoon i will watch this thread after i leave the office, you can also PM me

Hi Carl,

The first step would be to install the correct USB driver. In this case you have the SummaCut R Series, which uses the latest USB cutter driver(version 10 if you have Windows 10), and you can download that here - https://www.airmark.com/pages/summacut-vinyl-cutter-downloads. Once that is installed I would also install the Summa Cutter Tools, which include a program called Summa Cutter Control, and you can use that program to confirm the communication between your computer and the cutter. To confirm communication in Cutter Control just launch the program and hit the refresh button in the top right and if the cutter is communicating properly there will be a green light that illuminates. Once you confirm communication in Cutter Control you will be able to send a file from Winplot and the Sign Wizard option should work as well.

Hopefully that helps point you in the right direction. Let me know if you have any questions or if there's anything else that I can do to help.
