Just In How to measure what's left on a roll of vinyl [Video & FREE Tools]

I agree, we have full roll kanban system which we order material. Generally we're ordering 24 rolls when we get down to 12 or so.

We do the same thing with TP. :D

Still alot of reasons to want to know how much is left on a roll tho.

Anybody try this? Can I help at all?

I was wondering how accurate you find that system? It seems to me to have to many variables on measuring. If the rolls are more tightly packed that would change your numbers or if when you measure the diameters if you squeeze it to hard it would mess up your results.

Have you ever tried weighing the vinyl? I would think it would be more accurate. Weight a yard of material. Weight an empty tube. Then weigh a roll of material on a tube, subtract your tube number and calculate how many yards there is. I believe it would be more accurate. Just my 2 cents!
