Can you try any one of the following two methods to fix AI error:
1)Method 1
Disable the "Graphic Cards" driver using Device Manager and then launch AI. Once AI gets launched successfully you may enable the driver of the graphic card again. If this works then note that if you delete the AI preferences by chance then you have to perform this steps again.

Perhaps a preference or other associated file is corrupt or missing. You could always try deleting and reinstalling the program. That has worked for me in the past.
