Is my NEW print head USED ?

I recently purchased a print head and I got it in the mail today , upon inspection I noticed the head itself was a little wet .. is this normal ?

Is there a way to tell if this head was previously installed or used by the RANK ID or ser # ??

If you mean a few little water drops on the nozzle plate, than this is normal. I have replaced hundreds of Epson Piezo Heads over 20 years as a service technician, and can confirm that nearly every head seems to drop

They test and then fill these heads with an aqueous solution. It is normal.

Thanks ! I was just curious . Also I have the VS300i and the manual doesn't say I need to do the head alignment , is it something I should do anyway ? I am changing the 4 dampers too . Just want to make sure I do it right .
