Need Help L26500 Horizontal Colour variation

PrintDroid

New Member
Hi.

Im getting Horizontal Colour variation on mostly darker areas in print. printing on all stocks, paper, vinyl, scrim, roll up lightbloc.

Tried colour variation setting on printer menu, HP Colour configration on RIP (Wasatch Soft Rip), printhead cleaning.

Problem seems to be intermittent. but more often than not.

Its not Banding.

Make some rectangles wide as the vinyl width (in any graphics software): one filled with Cyan, one with Magenta, one with Yellow and one with Black (C0,M0,Y0,K100), export the graphics in CMYK mode, send them to print and see if this problem happens on all the colours or just one.
Also, see if this still happens in unidirectional printing.
Could be the dampers (pressure variation), a problem with the ink flow (pressure), the quality of the ink, printhead temperature and/or voltage variation.
Is this a recent problem? Did you change something lately, like the ink?

Odd how it seems to be coming off the ends of your letters. What file type are you printing from? Maybe save one as a different file type and see if it still does the same thing.

It's where is less background colour and more white on that pass, letters like U,L,N or when the top of the letters are in the same line, like TER.
