Forge Graphic Works is a design studio and large format print shop located in Portland, Oregon. We do work for big brands and small companies alike, specializing in designing and printing large retail campaigns, event graphics, P.O.P. displays, vehicle wraps and other marketing programs. We work hard but have fun designing and producing really cool stuff.

We are currently looking to add a lead graphic installer to our installation team. Our installers are responsible for installation of 2D and 3D graphics including cut vinyl, vehicle wraps, dimensional letters, signage, retail windows and various architectural / environmental executions. You will be the face of our company during installs often spending long hours with clients, so you must be a good communicator and able to get final buy-in on completed projects.

To be a good fit for this position you must be crafty and love a challenge! Unforeseen issues often arise during graphic installations, so you must be able to problem solve on-site and manage client expectations. You must also have some basic carpentry / art-maker skills and appreciate the attention to detail needed to get creative projects done. Graphic / sign industry experience is required.

Responsibilities:

-Vinyl installation on various surfaces and substrates
-Installation of dimensional signage
-Measuring and drawing extremely accurate site surveys, with ability to foresee potential opportunities as well as production/installation challenges
-Take and give direction as needed
-Work in graphic production or other internal departments as directed/needed by supervisors when not installing

Required Skills and Experience:

-Vinyl installation, weeding, and mounting abilities
-Highly skilled communicator, able to comfortably interact with clients and team members
-Ability to manage timelines effectively, being expedient yet thorough
-Self-motivated with a high degree of problem solving abilities & MacGyver-like ingenuity
-Ability to direct and oversee various trades during large, complex installation and remodel projects
-Light fabrication skills including building, construction and finish carpentry
-Willingness to travel and work flexible hours when necessary, often requiring overnight installs
-Must have valid driver's license
-Graphic production experience including printing, mounting and finishing a definite plus but not required
