I have a Dell Inspirion 1764 with the I5-m430, I am wondering if the laptop motherboard is a SATA 1 or 2 ? Would anyone here know this... Also if it is only SATA 1, can i still get an SSD with good performance ?

    Thanks,

    Kevin

You can look up the build on the Dell website......There is usually a label on the bottom with a Service Tag #....

    Kevin,

If it is an i5 mobile, it is at least SATA2, maybe SATA3. You will most definitely see an increase in performance with a quality (and compatible) SSD.
