Mimaki JF 1631 origin issue

I have a JF 1631 flatbed and I printed a table and then went to print another table and the origin shifted back on me about a 1/4 inch. I have shut it down and restarted a few time, slid the gantry to different positions, unplugged the machine for a bit and every time I try to set the origin the light keeps going to the same place( which is where the printing begins) which is a 1/4 in further back from the control panel than where it has been for years. I have tried other files, same thing. I have had encoder strip issues in the past and I don't think this is the problem.

A any advice as to what might causing this?
