Going to need a new car in the next few months, and really having a hard time deciding.
Choices are ...
Volvo-Volvo XC90 3.2
Ford Edge
Toyota Highlander. (Currently own a 2001 .)
The wife will leave Toyota kicking and screaming.
But the price and gas mileage is the problem I have with them.
I have not owned a ford for 20+ years.
And never a Volvo.
Any help would be great.
:frustrated:
Thank you
David

My cousin just got the volvo convertible, its so sick! That thing is like a freaking transformer. Volvo has come a long way from their old and reliable box design

Volvo for workmanship and quality

In theory yes, but the XC90 is the most unreliable and problematic car they have made for decades..

Google it and you'll find out. XC60 or 70 however, top quality cars! Living right next to Sweden, Volvos are very common here.

I was in that market a couple years ago. The Acura mdx was smooth. The VW Taurag was a turd. The Ford flex was gimmicky. Land Rovers were unreliable. Outback was cramped. The Nissans were too Nissany. I didn't drive the Volvo but my wife had a very unreliable boxy old Volvo. I really liked the Edge my only problem was that there was so many of them out there. My car searches last for months, do your research.

Salesmen suck so bad for the most part. If it wasn't for salesman and the entire car buying experience, I would always be in the market.

we had a 2010 Ford Edge and had nothing but problem after problem. Stalling in intersections, on the highway, etc. Ford put a monitoring device in it, and said they couldn't duplicate the problem so we were basically SOL. Fu@k Ford!!!! We went to a Toyota 4-Runner and are loving life!

If you like the styling of the edge, you should check out a toyota venza. I love mine and you don't see a ton of them on the road. A very comfortable car that is reliable and will hold onto its resale value.

Does anybody actually read the topic? He wanted advice from the choices given not what you like or drive.
Ok, that said, Ford Fusion. That's what I picked up the other day.

Well alright, all I can say living here in Ford country is that the Edge is very well received if overpriced. If it was me I would consult someone who reviews autos and knows all of them not just their favorite.

This is guy is good: ericpetersautos.com
Funny, I went there to get the link and he is reviewing my car now.

I really appreciate all the help.
I read consumer reports ,edmunds, blogs and everything else I can find.
This was just another way of researching .
I am in no hurry and want to hear what other people think of my choices.
Criteria is mid size SUV.
Wife is a Toyota person period.
I am the more conservative of us and want a car for what it is , not just the brand.
I am in the same boat as others I see.
I was at the Volvo dealership yesterday and another customer was looking at my Highlander and asking me questions about it.
I want the Edge but my problem is my vote does not count very much.
Thanks again for all of your help .
