New Firmware for HP Latex 300 Series Printers

HP has released a new firmware for the HP Latex 310, 300 and 360. It includes important fixes a some printer enhancements.

If your printer is connected to the Internet and you have auto-update turned on, then your printer will automatically update itself over the next week. Otherwise, you can download the firmware and update it yourself. It's fairly easy to do.

There is also a companion update to SAi FlexiPRINT HP Latex Edition which is bundled with some of the HP Latex 300 series printers.

Fix list

1. Improved long-term curing performance → HP strongly recommends the installation of this new firmware, even if you are happy with the current curing performance.
2. Loading process for textiles has been improved.
3. Fixes problems reported by some customers when printing on 2 or more printers from the same software RIP.
4. Warm swap. Ink cartridge replacement while printing is possible pausing the print.
5. E-mail alerts functionality has been improved.
6. Includes a new revision of HP media pre-sets that will overwrite the previous one. Make a copy of the current ones if you have done any customization and do not want to lose it.
7. Fixes problems reported by some customers when the Russian or Korean languages are selected.
8. Includes a new revision of the Japanese user guide.
9. More reliable reporting of the ink cartridges level.
10. Front Panel performance improvements.
11. Generic PVC banner media pre-set temperatures have been reduced from 116oC to 110oC .
12. Default rendering resolution increased for some print modes (e.g. from 300dpi to 600dpi)

NOTE: In order to take advantage of all those new fixes/functionalities HP recommends to upgrade the software RIP printer driver to the latest available version.

This is not exactly new firmware. This is version NEXUS_00_03_09.1 released on the 9th of September.

Yes. the firmware was added to the HP support website on the 9th. The auto-update to the printers started this week. If your printer is not connected to the Internet or has auto-update turned off, then you need to manually update it.
