New to this field, operating a giant cutter

Hello folks

I started working in a printing company in April 2016 as a complete freshman of post production in the field and in July a cutter from Aristo came to my workplace. I was assigned to its operator without previous knowledge of CNC cutters or graphic editors. After fooling around for some time I can use it quite efficiently at some cases but of course some problems arise at times. Quite a machine for starting from scratch. I tried googling for advice but the manufacturer doesn't provide much info on how to use the machine. So I came across to this forum. I'm hoping to find people who can give tips or links on how to use Aristomat LFC 3332 (or FlexiSign 12 accompanied with it) and eventually would like to redirect these skills to new operators.

This year will continue with education of printing with certain models of Mimaki, Roland, Canon and Durst thus expanding my experience of sign making.

I guess it takes a while to learn English terms used in the field as my knowledge in Finnish is also quite limited.

PS. My profile says I'm a product manager but I wasn't able to find a better translation for my job title (Finnish language can be difficult to translate). Just hoping that'll be my title in the future. :)

Hi Aspokala,

Only new to the forum and did a search on Aristo. Obviously it has been a while since you posted, but I am an Aristo installer and instructor here in Australia. I do understand that information about using the Aristo is not all the readily available, but I would believe that your local Aristo agent would have been able to offer the support and advice you would have been requiring.
I have seen it time and time again when one person or a group of people are originally taught how to use the machine, but then they move on and the information and knowledge is not always passed on. Over the 10 years that I have been installing Aristo cutters, there are some companies that still have the original operators, but many that have had quite a staff turnover that it feels like there is somebody new running the machine each time I go there.

I would advise anyone in your situation to contact your local agent. I did intend on setting up an Aristo forum where people could easily share their knowledge and advise, but I never did find the time to do it.
