Hello All!

Having a problem with ONYX ripping a file immediately, before it is opened in Preflight.
Anyone now where to find the drop-down/check box to turn this off?
Have looked everywhere ....

Thanks!

I think there's a check box in the file open dialogue box to select opening in preflight or just rip straight away.

If I get over to my rip today I'll see what it can be. But from how I understand it, I think its a profile selection. Some profiles can automatically start ripping if there is a preset already set up. I think it may be called a QuickSet. I'll try and get more info if I can.

May try this:
1/ From the Rip, Edit Quick Sets
2/ Click on Advanced.., Choose Output Tab and uncheck Rip and Print on the fly..

In Rip-Queue click the Change button in the upper right quadrant of the screen. Uncheck the Automatically Start Printing checkbox and then close click ok

Do you have "Open in Job Editor" selected or not?

Sorry, maybe I wasn't clear.

Files begin to RIP automatically when I just bring them in to ONYX.
That's the problem. Files rip wrong and I have to do it again - time .... etc
Seems there should be a "Waiting to RIP" status, which isn't happening.

No, job open dialog is not checked "Open in Preflight".
However, it does just automatically rip on its own,
without me seeing the preflight screen. It just goes direct to RIP.

ok. Try opening a file with that checked and watch what happens.

Agree. Open in job editor/ preflight should be checked on the open dialog

Thanks, yeah, I see it opens right up when opening, with check box checked.
However, in other versions of ONYX, I have experienced the file ONLY going to the
"jobs ready to print" list, under the status "Waiting to RIP". I then have the choice
of WHEN to open and RIP it, but have it in my list to go later.

Also, our design folder is directly connected to my machine and ONYX, and when they
drop a file into the folder, it immediately comes into ONYX and begins to RIP.
It's not a script attached to the folder, as I said, it happens when I just open a file, too.

We are Neanderthals who are still using ONYX 7, so I'm sure this is something from
version 10 I was using at a different shop. Have spoken to owner about upgrade.

Thanks for all your help.
