Permit Fee Taxed?

That would vary by state. I always have, but it may be exempt I have never been questioned on it.

I'm in Florida. I always taxed it because its better to do it then get in trouble for not doing it. I only question it, because a customer told me I wasn't suppose to. I tried Googling it but I can't find anything about it.

You have to look on the state website or call them.
As you can see by the two responses you got it's going to vary and we may not be doing it right.
I do know that all my labor and materials are subject to sales tax here.
Whether I should be itemizing a permit fee as a non taxable item I don't know for sure, it may be exempt
