Need Help Printable Privacy Film

Lauren-R

Stuff and Stuff
Looking for a film that might not exist. This is a medical building in their ambulance bay area.
Client wants people to not be able to see into their office area, during the day and at night, but "requires" ability to see out of it for safety reasons, like operating their handicap door for entry at night and ensuring they don't hit a gurney or wheelchair.

Initially they just didn't want people to see in, but now they realize the safety need to have it visible from outside.

We put up a nice cast vinyl with matte finish, grey adhesive on the back, and although you can still see figures out of the door during the day because of the brightness outside, at night its an issue.

Question is, does anyone know of something that is NOT perforated, latex printable and acts like a 2 way mirror, (visible from inside out but not outside in)?

perforated and 2 way mirror operates on the same premise, requiring exterior light to reflect off its surface and distract from viewing-thru. If you have lights on in the intended non-visible side of the glass, then you negate this effect.

you may be able to do perforated on both sides of the glass, inhibiting people from viewing-thru from a few feet away but being able to see-thru if you're face is closer to the glass, like a hunter's blind, but there's no magical material out there that allows light to only pass-thru one-direction.

The only true one way vision is a security camera.
Etched vinyl with a bright exterior light will give them the ability to see that there is a person/people outside
the door & other movement, but that's about it.
A low tech solution we provided for a office of women, who had to leave after dark, was etched vinyl about 7'
up and then they had a step stool on the inside & could see thru the clear part of the glass.
