Random magenta printing

    We have just replaced a the yellow and magenta head on our sp540v. Now the magenta is printing everywhere except when it should be.

    bad data - maybe ink got on the cables

    The cables are new we replaced them at the same time.

    well, something happened to the new head, or it came faulty. that is classic bad data to head

    edit: you can do a data swap to see if it follows the cable or stays at the M head

    Make sure you power OFF and unplug the power before messing with the cables in ANY way !

    We switched M and Y cables to make the opposite fire and neither did. We are trying to problem solve and see if it's the head or board.

    Got it. The cables we installed incorrectly, but we are fixed and up and going!

    Lucky damage was not done. What was it that was done incorrectly?
