Question Shimmer material from fifties and sixties

Way back in the 1950's and 1960's there was a product that was very popular in the industry. It consisted of a plastic or nylon grid of pegs spaced about two inches apart that held circular metallic disks about an inch and a half across. I am just guessing at the dimensions because as a kid, I saw these on signs everywhere but I never examined the them up close.
The effect was that as the wind blew, the disks would move back and forth on the pegs and give the sign a metallic shimmering effect.
Can anyone tell me what the product was and is there anything available similar?

I've seen those on the back of Sparkletts delivery trucks. No clue what it's called though.
