Anyone going to Sign World in Atlantic City next week? I'm sure they would appreciate the tourists in Atlantic City these days.

Looks like it's about the same size as last year.

Is that good or bad?
Maybe I'll go for a day trip.

It was small last year. It would be nice to see some growth at this show, but I guess people are still struggling.

Wow, that's not encouraging. 1 yes and 1 maybe. I hope that's not an indication of the way the show will be. Normally this time of year, there's a fairly good list of people on here saying they are going.

I'll be getting there Saturday morning and going through the entire show, which probably won't take long. Then I'm probably gonna go to the Sands casino. Not staying over, but I'll be at the casino til late.

Just a side note, we stayed at the Borgata last year, I signed up for their rewards card. Didn't gamble much at all. Came home and went online and "registered" my account, making it an online thing. Logged into that a couple weeks ago, saw the word "COMP", clicked on it, got 2 free nights. Signed up for the 2 free nights, then looked at it yesterday and I've got 2 more free nights.

So it pays to register and stay up with that stuff. 2 free nights at the Borgata isn't too shabby. It's a beautiful place. If you wanted more than 2 nights, the rates were seriously reduced.

If/or when we stay in Atlantic City, we almost always stay at Borgata. That's one of the nicest and cleanest. We get comp at quite a few of them, but according to what days you're staying, I don't think you can comp a Sunday. Just check it out before they get you.

True, it brings up a calendar and you can see what days are comps, and then it shows the rates of the other nights. No Friday or Saturday night comps that I've seen yet.

I was originally thinking of going and doing a booth there...but decided against it after the storm. I have a few vendors who will have booths there and will make a morning trip of it with my daughter. She has a fun time walking around at least....tires her out and its time spent with daddy. She's only 3yo!

We will be sharing a booth with Mutoh and having another booth with non mutoh products. It will be a busy show for GRS this year.

That is the sentiment from my vendors and constituants up here in the Northeast.. No new products to sell to us, the show was over in half a day really,etc.. I was going to go as well, but after asking some more experienced industry people form my area, I am , saving for Vegas..

I know it's not a great show these days, and it's smaller, but if we all stop going, then there will be no more shows. The only way they grow is if attendance is up. If we, as sign shops, don't support them, they'll be gone, which I'd hate to see.

The first one of these we went to, I thought was very good. Then the economy happened and it's gotten smaller and smaller each year. I hope it doesn't go away. You don't get things like "The Bullpen" at an NBM show.

I'll be taking courses every day, and staying at the Sheraton. Hopefully it will be decent. he courses were pretty good the last two years, especially Joe's on corel.
