slitting down media

I have a roll of 54" media that will not fit into my Mutoh ValuJet.
Maximum roll size is 50"
Does anyone have any solutions as to how I can make this work?
I cannot seem to find anyone that can slit this for me.

Dang I can slit it for you but Im out here on the west coast sorry. Your vendor doesnt have a slittler?

The only vendor that has a slitter is Fellers out of Oklahoma and it takes way too long to have a specialty cut done.

Can I use a band saw?

If its a roll of banner material then a bandsaw will probably not get it done without shredding the edges. You need a bologna cutter of some sort.

Advantage Sign Supply in Virginia can do it. Will they do it is a different story. 1-800-286-1221. They used to slit material I bought from them down to 48" for my Outdoor Falcon when I had it. Not all of their branches will slit rolls but it looks like there is a branch in PA, 1-800-516-9737.
