Smalts substitutes

Mal

New Member
Hi again. I've heard people discuss substitutes for black glass smalts for large surfaces. Blackbeauty grit for one... Has any one ever tried a copper slag grit called Ebonygrit? It's described as "lustrous black" and comes in a coarse 3.5 ml.

And I would love to hear your prefered adhesive...Smith's Cream? Spar varnish? Epoxy..? Or anything else.

Thanks---mal

I've used Smith's cream and epoxy. Epoxy sets up faster. They both work. Never heard of Ebony grit before.
