sp300 v Pump Question

Hi there,

I had done some maintenance on my printer and I noticed that the pump in my printer is a different kind of the
one I have seen in the same printer on you tube video...,
I am wondering if I do have an out dated pump..., I do have the pump A currently in my printer, is that a better pump than pump B ? can either of these pumps be installed in this printer ?

Which pump is better ?

Pump b is the original one. Pump a is the upgraded one. A is what you want.

if the pump A fails and I can not get this pump model can I just install pump B instead ?
I am just looking at option in case things go bad and I do need a pump immediately...

Get a new pump a from Roland. I don't see the problem...

Roland did a pump upgrade on these machines years ago. Whoever sold you the machine should have notified you of the upgrade. It was a free service.

I understand ..., but my question is in time of emergency ... lets say the upgraded pump goes whack, can I put the other pump till I get the new upgraded pump... as it appears I have 2 spare pumps but they are the older model...

When the new style pump was installed, a System Switch within Service Mode should have been modified to change the pump cycles.

In emergency, sure, you can use the old pump. But if the system switch was made, the old pump will not cycle properly and it would be recommended that you replace it with the new style shortly after.

If the system switch was not updated with the new pump install, you may be wasting some ink.

Also the new style pump is much more reliable.
