I switched to cable internet and in the process of resetting my email
accts I deleted one that I need. No- had a backup setup but it did not
work. I am trying to recover a Thunderbird profile that is in Documents and
Settings\myname\application data\thunderbird. Am I as screwed as I think
I am? Thanks Gene

System Restore should only restore system settings, not personal data.

Did you delete the old email account from Thunderbird?

Did you delete the old email account from your old ISP (Internet Provider)?

You may have a few ways out here.

Try Recuva, great free recovery software. If it doesn't find it, download a trial of R-Studio and if it finds what you're after, buy it and recover.

Try not to use the drive you lost info on until after you've determined if recovery is possible.

I tried a recovery program with no luck... because tbird does not actually delete
anything. After much research we found the emails broken into may different files- I
am now working on reorganizing it. But the good news is- I think I recovered it all. Gene
