vertical lines in ultraflex fabritac material

Hi, I've ordered a roll of fabritac made by ultraflex. When I print, there is vertical lines in the print. My suppliers changed the roll and it does the same thing. Is it me or the material itself? I have a HP L26500. Thanks.

media buckling due to high heat of the 26500 print process.
have you tried running the print with tension on the media? either by-hand, or tying the media to the take-up roller?

always fixes the problem for me.

Hmmm. I'll try this. But I will need to do this everytime I print on this material? It make alot of waste? no?

yup. it will waste material. but its better than head-striking like crazy trying to start your print on the front-end of the media, which will most certainly buckle enough to catch the deflector and jam the media/scratch your printheads (especially when you're in a rush to print a job!)

which is why i posted the option to add tension by-hand, at least on the front-end. just feed enough excess to get your fingers on it, before starting the print, and apply tension until it is long enough to web through the bar & take-up roller.

so far, i've had similiar issues& successful "tension-fixes" with UltraFlex Wallscapes, Phototex, and any banner material lighter than 15oz

So I've done what you've said and use the take-up to keep a tension. It does exactly the same thing (vertical lines like in my first post). I've printed on a sample roll of phototex (17in) and I don't have this problem even if I use the fabritac profile. I don't have those problem even if I print on ultraflex 18oz banner or anykind of other banners/material.

I'm out of idea...

I see this every now and then. Different printer and material. I had assumed it was maybe humidity/inkload related because of the rare frequency. I dont know what the problem is either. Does it show up in other colors? Try running a high and lower pass count. If the material were buckling you would be able to see it.

So 40 linear feet of wasted material/ink/time later, I figured out. I needed to change the dry time. So I've went from 105-55 to 105-40. I post it here in case someone make the search in the future.

Thanks all for your help!

Ben
