VS-300i Contour Cuts over 30" GRRRR

Ive had my printer for a couple of years and I love it , but for some reason any contour cuts that I do on a sheet that is 30 inches or longer its ALWAYS OFF ... The media for some reason wont stay lined up at all. Ive even trimmed the lamination over the crop marks thinking the lamination was causing an error with detecting the crop marks. So upset with this deal and can't figure it out. Ive tossed hundreds of $$ down the drain .

Some of my graphic templates are 30" or bigger so I cant break them down to anything smaller .

If there some sort of calibration ?

I would do a "Calibration" on the specific media your trying to cut. Make sure the setting looks correct and there is no overlap or gap between the two squares that get printed. If this setting is off it could cause this.
MENU > CALIBRATION > TEST PRINT

It could be the rollers are dirty and causing the sheet to slip. Trying cleaning the rollers with alcohol or use a third one to make sure the media is not slipping at all. This can happen especially with heavier media.

Do a MENU > CUTTING > CROP CUT ADJ. Make sure everything cuts good and if not adjust the setting.

It would help if you could tell us if the cut is off in the feed or scan direction so we could narrow it down. Also you might want to try just a Print & Cut operation without the crop marks and see what happens.

Go to MENU > CUTTING > AUTO ENV. MATCH and make sure it is set to ENABLE.

Hey autoexebat,

Metrographics is right, this could be a calibration related issue, however, if the material is physically tracking/drifting while printing and cutting, then no calibration will solve the the issue. You'll have to address the media tracking problem first before attempting any calibration.

If the issue continues, it's possible you're having difficulties related to the pinch rollers (maybe new ones are needed).

If you continue to have media tracking problems, no need for you to continue struggling with this issue. It's recommended that you contact Roland support and get help with this ASAP. We'll need you to complete our support submission form so we can create a support ticket for you. Go here to submit your info: Product Support Form | Roland
