Wasatch 7.0 Grainy/Speckle print issues

Hi guys

For the past few years, we have been running Mimaki JV4-160 printers using PhotoPrint Server 4 RIP software and CorelDraw to design. We've recently decided to upgrade our RIP software to Wasatch 7.0, but ever since the upgrade, all our prints have a grainy effect on them. We believe the issue may boil down to the Screen/Diffusion Settings. Our PhotoPrint software uses Angled Screen, whereas the Wasatch settings only allows Error Diffusion and Precision Stochastic Screen, neither of which produces satisfactory results. We have tried countless test settings, profile settings, as well as bringing in an independent colour/profile specialist for 3 working days to resolve this issue, all with disappointing results. I have attached 3 photos to show the discrepancy in print quality: photoprint.jpg and previous-rip.jpg shows our standard clean print (very flat and pure), and wasatch-rip2.jpg shows the grainy effect, usually with magenta-looking dots spread throughout the print.

Note that on Photoprint, we are able to run low or high speed, usually at 360x540 with a 6 pass, no problems. All our art files are CMYK exported as an eps.

Would be most grateful if anyone can shed any light on this! Thanks.
