What is the best adhesive for polycarb to polycarb?

I need to attach some hanging bars to a new face that I'm replacing, and I ordered 3/16" faces, and got a strip of 3/16" to make a hanging bar.

What is the best material to bond them together? I'm looking at the weld on 16, but they offer weld on 3 and weld on 4...

Just wanted to make sure that I get the best one.

For flat-on-flat, Weld-On 3. You can simply lay the hanger bar on the face and using an applicator, the Weld-On 3 will flow between the two pieces nicely ("capillary"). It's nice stuff and extremely strong.


For uneven surfaces, the Weld-On 16 works really well. The attached photos show an install I did recently using pad-mounted letters on acrylic strips. The pads weren't perfectly flat and the acrylic strips would flex when installing. The 16 is really thick and fills gaps really well.

3 or 16. Both work fantastic. We generally stock a case of the #16 and keep a quart of the #3 in stock almost all the time.

since its for a hangar rail and not cosmetic, I always pop in some rivets too

For smooth surfaces we use Weld On 4 with a syringe applicator bottle. It's about the same as Weld On 3, perhaps just faster setting, but I'm not entirely sure. Keep in mind, the gluing that Moze mentions can be a tad bit tricky. You want to make sure you squeeze the bottle to release most of the air, turn the bottle upside down and release the pressure so air bubbles flow back up into the bottle while you work. If you don't do this, you will most likely spill and wish you hadn't. I tape my pieces into position so nothing shifts on me while gluing also.

The best thing to use is Channel Bond....3 and 4 can break down in the heat...sun... and other weather conditions over time....
