Wrapping Transit Buses

For those with experience in wrapping 40 ft. transit buses, how long does it typically take to install a full wrap (all 4 sides). With a crew of 2 installers, how many man hours does it usually take? Please include the windows, but not the roof. Do you prefer vertical or horizontal panels?

Any info would be helpful. Thanks.

Transit is a whole different ball game. No cleaning. Nothing. We use 3 guys. 2 laying 1 trimming. We do tons of trains and buses for the city. And you have to have them done in a day.

:thumb: yup. Although we will clean and do a more detailed install if the contracted flight is 6 months +. Also on full wraps contracted over a month we will use BusArt instead of BusMark. Conforms better and the stretched bits will stay down better.

Transit is a tough game. If it is a city bus do not use regular cast vinyl, transit vinyl only. Removal will be a dream and it should not pull any of the paint off with it. There is a high risk of that with anything else. Ruin the paint job and you will probably have to pay to have it repainted. Make certain your installers know to cut every window seam. You don't want people trapped in a crashed burning bus being blamed on you....

Lot of things to be aware of. We have had a transit contract for about 4 years. Its about all about low costs and speed. Cities will not tolerate you tying a bus up for days.

two guys can do it in a day. its hard to say exact hours. busses are way different from each other. so many models. some are easy, some suck. older ones especially.

vertical panels for sure. just throw two guys at it and im sure you will have no problem knocking it out in a day.
