zero dollars....errrrrrr

I really hate the term "zero dollars" being used in ads. does it bug anyone else when some one comes up with something like this then it's everywhere? what was wrong with the word "free"?

free is becoming cliche. People like things that cost zero dollars. They do a lot of shopping on ebay.

Notice..... they're elaborating on the term, just trying to sound more impressive by using more syllables.
