  1. Getting a new Epson Printer!

I run 3 of them, very few issue over several years of running them. I use Colourgate for my rip. Onyx is not my fav anymore, maybe 15 years ago, but not anymore.
  2. What are your thoughts on the S80600?

Most rips will allow you to do this, but you need a tool to scan and make the profile. Pretty much anyone that makes their own use an i1 device for profiling.
  3. Swiss Q impala color question

If I were to send you the same test file we used, could you print me something on coroplast or ABS at a speed matching around 40 boards an hour and send it to me? I can send you our UPS account to ship to us with. We are anticipating the need for more press power within the next year, having the...
  4. Swiss Q impala color question

SwissQ has some nice features, but from what we've seen Fuji's colours are miles ahead of SwissQ's colours.
  5. Swiss Q impala color question

We never ended up getting the printer. The people in Chicago were never able to produce anything that we were satisfied with. On paper the machine looks great, the machine itself is beautiful, but colour wise we went back to Fuji. Aside from EFI and maybe AGFA, Fuji has the brightest inks...

  7. Swiss Q impala color question

We do a lot of 4x8 coro. Sometimes use varnish, and I use white enough.
  8. Swiss Q impala color question

Then the one making the samples at their end doesn't know what he's doing. Unless we slow down print speeds to something sad, the colours are all washed out. 500K$ for 12 boards an hour is not good.
  9. Epson SureColor S40600 printing blank pages

It shows you're in Surrey. Check with Spicers and Grimco. They both sell Epson and have some people to service. Will be cheaper then going thru Epson, they use only 1 place for service and they charge a lot.
  10. Epson SureColor S40600 printing blank pages

Yes and no. I do my own repairs and just order parts from a local company that sells Epsons. Epson won't sell them, but just check who in town sells them and they can get the parts.
  11. Epson SureColor S40600 printing blank pages

They is a procedure for starting up a machine when no ink is installed. You will need the service program to do this. If it was shut down properly, you might be able to get away with doing heavy cleans, but if it was done poorly then new heads and dampe(CR duct) will need to be replaced. Good luck.
  12. How do I fix this? Overspray and ink texturing FB700

Never used this printer, so can only offer advice based on the machines I run. It could be deviated nozzles, you head height or print gap is to high, or too much static with the material. First thing is always do nozzle test, see how it looks. If all nozzles are there, then look to see if its...
  13. Who Has The Best Inks?

For best overall I would say EFI or AGFA inks are amongst the top, but from my experience no one matches Fuji's ink for brightness with just using CMYK inks. It might also be a good pairing with the rip we use, colorgate profiles just seem better for color then others.
  14. What’s your thoughts on a Vanguard VR 6

We went down to Fuji, Vanguard and EFI to check out their demo centres. EFI at the time was hands down the top contender, but the recent partnership with AGFA made buying one of their Hybrids a little risky. So we were left with Vanguard and Fuji. Vanguards machine are not bad, but unless you...
