  1. issue with laminated coroplast signs printed on HPFB750

Are you using laminate designed for UV prints? UV prints are raised.... And regular laminate doesn't like it. And our hp UV ink wasn't the best on Coro... If you laminated it, it'd lift the ink off the Coro.... Most people who laminate Coro / UV prints use liquid laminate.... As flatbed...
  2. Bid package nightmare

It's common for big contracts. The first time you fill it out takes awhile Then you just copy paste all your answers into all future contracts.... 90% of it wont need to be re-written. We have a "template" For our bid packages - About a dozen different ones with photos / examples of work...

If it's a graphic that stretching works on, I blow it up and email them. This is has about 15 circles of various sizes, and all the smaller ones turn into ovals... Looks weird so I didn't offer it to this person. Last time I did they they approved it then complained it looked weird when...

I'm not a designer, So I don't try to be one - It's why we have paid designers. Mr Remax employee who sells houses for a living an hour a day, also is not a designer, and should not try to design. When AI Gets good enough that you can tell it what to do, and it does it properly... it'll be...

It's not always that simple. If you accept Realtors the brokerages usually have rules. Most realtors buy 5-10 signs... Some will buy 50 signs at once. I'd say 80% of the work from a brokerage is worth it... But you can't just refuse, or set a min limit or you lose all of that brokerages...

Because it's not just logos that can easily be traced. Do you do your artwork for free? We always throw an estimate out so that they know and can budget for it. A lot of times we build it into the quote because people don't like to pay an artwork fee... There's something like designing a whole...

I have a guy I do quite a bit of business with... he likes to design his own stuff. I'll go down... take measurements of his whole store front, and he'll say he'll design it and get back to me. 2 weeks later... he sends me a JPG thats like 10" Tall, for a 8 FT Window graphic... It's in the...

  12. Threat of Closing this year...

It's different in Canada. 5 years is the standard term, some people go for 10, but 5 is most common - real estate is so hot right now, no one will give you a lease with guaranteed rates for 10 years, or 5 years with a renewal at xx percent. They'd rather you leave in 5 years so they can double...
  13. Threat of Closing this year...

Being a small business sucks in most markets... If you're in a "Major" or Semi Major city, rent is crazy. To get a 1000 SQFT Place right now... It'd cost me $3500 a month for a business... Thats just for rent, doesnt include utilities or anything else. And there is no guarantee in the next 5...

  15. Styrene vs Sintra, what's the difference?

We use styrene a lot - the oil company here uses them for hang tags and other things, so we print thousands of sheets. It's cheap.... And an upgrade from paper... But that's pretty much it. One parking garage uses styrene for their signs... And they're all cracked and shit. Coroplast would...
  16. FC9000 + Take up reel review

That video shows they have cut makrs every FT... There is no way to make it roll in both directions when cutting - the take up reel is slow... think about it, if you were on 100 speed cutting, how would it handle it? No system is that way... Summa doesnt do it, the $100,000 flatbed cutters...

  18. FC9000 + Take up reel review

Do you have a link to the video? If you use segment marks... It'll cut between the marks and then take up before it reads the next marks. I believe that's the only way, it will not take up if you're not using segments because it would be doing way too much back and forth and the take up real...
  19. FC9000 + Take up reel review

Turn on segment cutting in your software and it'll cut every segment - that's how we do print and cut, and even 50 ft ones in onyx. I know cutting master / Flexi does it as well.

Not going to lie, I've thrown the ladder in the bed of my truck a few times to get some extra height when needed. I was just installing some overhead signs in a parking garage.... Was using 2 ladders and drilling into the concrete overhead sucks, so I backed up the truck and stood on the teneau...
