  1. "My brother-in-law is a graphic designer in New York City" oh yay...

It's missing the truck up on cinder blocks.
  2. Not sure if this is the correct category.................................................................................

Good thread Gino, now, you might want to clean your keyboard - the period key seems a little 'sticky'
  3. They're takin our JOBs!

Well , no smartphones back then with mega-pixel video recording and I was too poor to have a camcorder. OSHA had not yet docked at the port in their wooden sailing ships (as part of Magellan's fleet) so our guy was most likely wearing slippers and using a pair of knockoff Ray-Bans for goggles. I...
  4. They're takin our JOBs!

CNC bead rolling - extreme addition. Pretty amazing stuff. We've come a long way. Back in the 70's or early 80's I was working in my dad's body shop, a Mazda/Ford Courier came in with the passenger side door caved in. No one had a new or used door and it would have taken months to get one in...
  5. Not sure if this is the correct category.................................................................................

Mark out the 12 square feet on the sign that contains the most critical information, cut off all the rest and hang it.
  6. Question How do you prepare your install crew for an install?

We prep them the same way the military prepped their pilots and ground troops during WWII before a mission - amphetamine and methamphetamines. Gets them revved up with confidence and keeps them going long after their better judgment has gone to sleep.
  7. Eclipse watching

Tex did you get a briefing from your Rep Jackson Lee before attempting to watch the eclipse?
  8. Eclipse watching

I'm speeding down the road in to Texas right now. It's just twilight from here and raining
  9. Dry Ice vinyl removal?

Might have come in handy when I was spraying undercarriage rustproofing. By the end of the day, I'd be fully rustproofed (with a 10 year warranty) and had to basically shower with kerosene to get it off. A little ice-blasting sounds good.
  10. Dry Ice vinyl removal?

Seems to be a thing - not sure it has been used on graphics yet. https://www.coldjet.com/dry-ice-blasting/
  11. How Should I Apply?

I don't think long-term and styrene work well together. If the windows get a lot of sunlight they are going to warp pretty quick. If he wants them to last you need to sell him on decals or window perf.
  12. Graduation Backdrop Help

5mm or thicker smooth pvc is easy to overlay a print on and cut into a clean circle with a jig saw or router (hand cut if you are good with a blade. If you know someone with a CNC table they can pop out the blank and you can take it from there. Mounts to hang it could be studded onto the back or...
  13. mutoh 1324 e068 error

Check to see if the spring latch that locks the print head to the maintenance station is in the correct position and straight up and down. If it is bent just a little forward or backward the mutoh will throw up this error. If that does not clear it up look to see if you have smeared ink or...
  14. Timely: Any experience with customer disputing a charge for an order that was produced correctly and that he picked up?

Younger me would say Don't let the SOB get away with it. Older me would say Ask for the shirts back - think of the time and frustration it will cost trying to get them to pay up - blacklist the customer - move on.
  15. I read all these ways 'to' and 'not to' do things in signland......................................................

We install lift gates in trucks and vans and explain to each customer that it is not a wheelchair lift and that humans are not allowed to ride up and down on them. It doesn't stop anyone but we are doing our part.
