We are right now back where we started.
The machine has the original network chip and works if we keep it warm.
Next thing we will try is to change the Y5 and Y2 as Cosmin suggest.
Do you got spare parts for Roland machines?
We also have a SP-300 that I think the long head cable is broken.
It stops in random places while printing and we get an error message about the head not finding the sensor.
When I try to run encoder setup I also get error 0101.
I have now found out that the printer head does not lock in place in the parking place.
I need to look at the locking mechanism that does not work.
Thanx for the input, I will try it when I get the head to lock in place.
Update!
Network connection is now working again with original RTL8102 chip!
But, in my search for errors I tested every possible thing I could think of and sadly did a factory reset on the machine.
Now we get error code 0101, Limit Position Initialize in the Service Mode has not been done.

Ok, so you suggest that I replace the oscilator with a real crystal?
I've had problems in the past when our supplier replaced a crystal with an oscilator without telling us.
Do you know of a replacement with same footprint and so on?
Well, since I haven't found any bad caps, nor any other bad solder joints, I have decided to solder back the original chip.
We atleast had network leds lit and flashing with the original chip.
Will try to do that this weekend but I have other work that pays the bills that I need to do first...
