Greetings and Happy Holidays from UFB Fabrication !
We are adding staff again. We are looking for a experienced computer programer that knows Enroute or similar software. We would like a minimum of 1-2 years experience. You will be programing for 2 Multicam machines 5x10 & 7x10. We cut...
How often will you use it? Will you make enough signs to off set the cost? Do you have the space? Do you have a separate are to keep away from the dust and noise? I would bet most shops dont do enough to off set the cost. Sub it out and save yourself the headache. BTW we have a Multicam...
I would guess the old crabby guys are just that. I am guessing that folks that have enough talent to be in a movie such as this could give a rats a** about what other shops do. I started out hand lettering and went to the metal fab/electric direction. You cant build that in you moms basement.....
By the way. If a company has been in business for any time then they buy what your selling already. So you have to have better service, price or something to ad value. Start off with a good price. We have new sales guys come all the time and ask to quote stuff. Starting @ 20% higher than I...
If you are selling materials try stocking it once in a while. After 3 tries and you dont have it " but we can get it for you" dont embarrass yourself and come back.
I have gotten a check fed ex'd or pay by CC every time up front. Its funny that they are able to pay when they need to. BTW I am in St. Louis not out in the sticks with no other sign shop around.
I have sad it a 1000 times but lets go for 1001. Rule number 1: If you have never done work for them pay up front or COD before it leaves your door. Rule number 2: see rule number 1. Weather its 5 miles or 5000 miles away. Are you a bank or a sign company?
BTW 150 bucks is a cheap lesson...
I expect not many sign shop or vendor employees have a lawyer on retainer that can advise against or renegotiate a non compete in 2 days. They most likely did not know they would be terminated in 3 days regardless so signed in good faith. Only to be let go anyway it seems obvious to me that...
Grimco has some sort of injunction against Glantz and a Person who wants to work at Glantz.
My understanding from some Ex N&F employees is they signed a non compete on Thursday and were let go the next Tuesday. If they did not sign a non compete they would be terminated Friday.
I have a Lab and a Golden that both come to the shop. Our shop is 20,000 feet. and the office is as big as a lot of peoples shop. The dogs great all the vendors and customers and most people seem happy to see them. They wont bug you for attention as they see dozens of new folks a day. As...
Funny thing is that the big shops think of Mom and pop or 1 man garage shops as scum. The the big nationals think of the big shops as **** ants as well.
My theory is that plumbers are smarter than sign guys. They all have a hourly rate that is very similar. They may have some difference in...
