Here is an interesting one on canvas. I was able to do a small test print on a scrap of canvas that was meant to be for latex printers. It looked to have a rolled on coating on the canvas and you could see where it stopped by the faint lines on the edges. The area that was not coated was the...
I have a customer wanting to do up some coupons for his pizza shop. The sample he gave me was a Canadian $5 and $2 actual currency with his info over top to use as a coupon. I told him in Canada we can't use our currency in a Design.
First, is this true for us Canadians?
I thought in the USA...
I know a lot of you golf but do any of you have a Golf Simulators?
I started many years back with a P3pro and since gotten a GC2 and now run "The Golf Club" (TGC) on it. A great way to make the winters go by quicker in the Great White North.
Just wondering if anyone plays on line and has...
I have still been running my converted CJ 500 on XP but that computer is feeling tired and I wanted to know if anyone has run one on windows 7 or newer. I have Flexi 8 running on my laptop with windows 7 but it seems like it needs a new driver.
So has anyone had luck running a CJ 500 or SC500...
I used 4over for some coro prints. This was the first time I have ordered these and was wondering if it was normal that the ink lifted easily?
I assume that they are flatbed printed but the dark colors, they are easily scratched or the ink lifted. The one batch I had to laminate anyway and...
Has anyone else been told that Roland is coming out with a latex conversion for their printers? Just had a call today about this.
Also a question about the EcosolMax 2 inks. Has anyone used these? Has anyone used them in a printer they were told that they would not work in but do? Any idea...
Long time back I had seen a youtube of something they were working on to correct a photo that had blurr from moving the camera.
Is this out yet. I pay the monthly fee but mainly only use photoshop and illusrtator and my updates are up to date for those.
Someone had told me it was. Am I...
Long time coming shout out to Phillip (Sign Amigo).
Phillip designed the main trail sign on top and this allowed me to use that same look for the history and map signs below. I would have never thought one could create such a great layout from a vector of a jogging Blue Herron.
There were...
I never had a customer send a Corel file up untill 1 week ago and it would not open in Illustrator (unable to open error) even though Corel show up in the list of files to open.
Today I have my 2nd Corel file but at least it opened as a white box, but nothing else. Can this be done with...
Has anyone tried this type of waterproof label?
If so how durable as far as rubbing off the image?
This would be a cost alternative to the print, laminate and contour process when someone is looking for a low cost label.
Sampe of label papers...
This was their Archival canvas. Tried their sample size roll and loved it, I thought.
Is anyone using this right now or had issues. Just got the new full roll and I thought my printer was going haywire. The print on the canvas has fade lines running the scan direction as if the heads were...
Does anyone know much on desk top laser printers?
I have a Dell 2150cn laser printer that I have run through only a few thousands sheets and the cyan has a fade that starts 1 1/2" in on the left and runs about 1 1/2" more before it is back to normal. Black has the same fade. Mag and Yellow...
Just a shout out to Big Fish and the Gloss Photo Paper for solvent. 36” x 100’ roll.

Just a quick note that may help others with waterbased printers.
Bigfish has a double sided fabric banner that I got for my solvent printer I wanted to try 54" x 99'. Worked on solvent just fine but...
Tried it on the old FJ 42 waterbased and the stuff seems to print like a charm. I wet it...
I know in the past to get better color out of a printed backlit its recomended to print a second layer on clear and lay the backlit media over top of that so in daylight the print looks normal and at night when lit it is not as washed out.
When you try to line up your layers it can be a bit of...
You got to love a 40 deg C temp swing in the matter of a week to 10 days. Only in Alberta. Was in Hawii a couple of weeks ago and when we got gack the temp was over 10 deg C. (I was thinking Hawii was overrated) BTW Doug, nice to have met you and see your shop.
But now at 40 below C (same...
Just a note to say if you have never tried a steamer to remove vinyl off of backlit (lexan or acrylic) I would say you will be amazed.
I have a 36” by 20 foot of lexan to remove lettering. I started with a spray (vinyl remover 4 oz for $8) and it did not help a bit. The vinyl was so brittle...
Just wanted to start a thread about what ink brand has worked or not worked for your old Roland DX2 printers.
This may help out others who are looking to find ink that prints well in these printers. Also if profiles are needed or if regular Roland profiles work.
Using Production Manager (set up the file in Illustrator) I want to do some cut lettering that will be approx 100" long. It's a web site address that they want to apply to some trucks for a promo. The letters are only 10" tall so on 54" wide media I can make 4 row (or copies) at a time.
