of you're DEFINITELY gonna screw some prints up, BTDT. In fact, probably at least enough to pay for a cheap cold laminator ;)
  2. Is your shop prepared for the upcoming barter system?

you might be on to something there. I think even NASA uses gold wiring in spacecraft!

ooh, I'ma be able to get a LOT of signs! ......er.....wait.....am I doing it right? :banghead:
  4. Wholesaler for clean detailed decals - anybody have a favorite source?

  5. Overlaminate without a laminator

Sure, I used a Big Squeegee for a while, and even made myself a second one. Not perfect, but works and doesn't take up any space at all.
  6. Best decision

are you currently doing sublimation? if not, do you have the business lined up to support it? Do you understand the limitations of sublimation (polyester/light colors/etc)? What can sublimation do for you that the white toner printer can't already? the answers to those may help you make the...
  7. Faux cast bronze plaques

is there still a market for this sort of thing? I've been playing with casting resins lately and that coupled with a CNC carving could be doable, using mica powders to metallize it.
  8. Humorous Decal I Designed

maybe because it really wasn't all that funny anyway
  9. Let's Build a DTF Printer (For as cheap as possible!)

might be worth looking into a used/cheap infrared flash dryer from screen printing. That and some ACM or aluminum sheet could easily make you a decent inline oven. Maybe couple with a PID temperature controller of some sort. I like where this is heading.
  10. What's your favorite drill bit for ACM?

I wound up finding a forstner bit in my kit that did a surprisingly good job of it. Did a stack of them with waste on the bottom and they came out great. Happy parts were delivered to happy client yesterday and a check was placed in my greedy paws. Win.
  11. What's your favorite drill bit for ACM?

Thanks for that visual it helps a lot!
  12. What's your favorite drill bit for ACM?

Let me ask you a couple questions about it - I'm going to be putting the holes in 2 corners. My plan WAS to set up a 2-sided, right angle fence on my drill press and just shove the piece into the corner of that block, drop the hole, flip over for the second one and then move on to the next one...
  13. What's your favorite drill bit for ACM?

Just what the title says. I couldn't find a consensus with the (lousy) search feature here. Gotta put some 3/16" holes in the corners of a bunch of small ACM "plaques" to hang on a big sponsor board, so don't really want something that's going to make me have to de-burr all the holes if I can...
  14. Vinyl for "fence pad"

What about a printed HTV vinyl? One could use an iron in place of a heat press, though it may be hard to get enough pressure
  15. "My brother-in-law is a graphic designer in New York City" oh yay...

I think you're getting stuck in the "mud" :omg2:
  16. "My brother-in-law is a graphic designer in New York City" oh yay...

why would you be AT ALL surprised by that here? :big laugh:
  17. Vinyl for "fence pad"

My gut says screen print or maybe UV print directly onto the pads if you can.
  18. Need help with a tradeshow event in Fort Washington, Maryland

I sent him a message to see if he's interested and wanting me to pass along his contact info. Will let you know. He's a dude I've known online for a bunch of years and met in person a couple of times. Pretty solid, keeps his word, fairly mechanically minded, etc. so even though he's probably...
  19. Need help with a tradeshow event in Fort Washington, Maryland

If you don't wind up finding someone on here, LMK. I know a guy about an hour away that may be able to help. He's not in the industry but I'd bet you could talk him through it ahead of time if you get desperate.
