Very true. At my last shop we had some issues with pricing and our sales rep dropping the ball on a lot of things. Sent Frank an email and he personally handled the situation. I was very impressed by that.
Got the new print head data cable in this morning. Got it all routed through the Edge and plugged in. Fixed and cleaned a couple of other things and fired it up. Runs like a champ again. Really glad it was an easy and inexpensive fix.
That was the cable I was referring to. Sorry, computer nerd here. I consider a comm cable to be a data cable. We got one ordered. Should be here tomorrow morning. I'll post an update with what we figure out.
Steve,
I really appreciate the response. A co-worker and I have been pretty sure it was a communication/data issue but we really couldn't see any visible issues with the cables. We'll give a new data cable a try and see if it fixes things.
Thanks!
Ran several of the tests. The "Solid Block" test was the most telling. Same issue as when printing from a file. About 70% prints while the rest is lost.
Anyone know a good Gerber tech in the Memphis/Little Rock area?
Our Gerber Edge II has worked relatively fine since the days of Moses. However, today we suddenly had part of the print just stop. The majority of the print runs fine but then it just cuts out.
I checked the visible connections and everything looks good. Thinking (Hoping?) it might be a...
In some of our departments we have the 10% +/- rule. However, we only invoice our customers for the quantity shipped. In my department where we do smaller runs we still have the 10% policy but we hardly ever use it. The only time I have ever used it was if there was a problem and we were on a...
We use our Edge mainly for jobs that are too small for a screen or flexo setup. Just for this application it is a huge money maker for us. To set up a 50 label run for screen print just isn't practical or cost efficient. But on the Edge I can crank out those 50 labels in just a couple of...
At my previous shop we got a ton of Flex faces from Miratec. The quality was outstanding and the service was top-notch. Ryan always took good care of us.
That is another reason I am leaning towards another JV33. I've overhauled a couple of them and am very familiar with them mechanically. While the speed of the JV5 would be nice, having two JV33's running side by side would be more than enough to keep up with our workload.
The new shop I'm with is looking to pick up another printer. We are currently running a Mimaki JV33 as our main "workhorse". I've used a JV3 and JV33 in the past and love them both. I'm tempted to recommend another JV33 to run alongside this one. The owner mentioned a JV5. I've never used one...
