  1. They're takin our JOBs!

CNC bead rolling - extreme addition. Pretty amazing stuff. We've come a long way. Back in the 70's or early 80's I was working in my dad's body shop, a Mazda/Ford Courier came in with the passenger side door caved in. No one had a new or used door and it would have taken months to get one in...
  2. Wood!

I could do this, all I need to do is find a 150-year-old scroll saw for sale.
  3. Some times I think my Job is too hard and I want to run away and explore the South Pole

After looking at photos of the explorers and their ages, I think, maybe not. https://oceanwide-expeditions.com/to-do/experiences/shackletons-hut https://nzaht.org/conserve/explorer-bases/shackletons-hut/ Neat stuff - hard men.
  4. Rise of the Machines - AI Vector Tracing is coming for our Bitmaps!

Anyone turn to the AI dark side and check out the online AI bitmap to vector converters? A customer sent me what looks like a phone screen cap of a logo - the cropped logo center part was less than 800 x 800 pixels. Dropped it here: https://vectorizer.ai/ It converted so fast that I thought it...
  5. Happy New Year!

To all those living on the right side of the Dateline. Better strap in, I think it's going to be an interesting year.
  6. It's that time of the year again!

It seems kind of Caucasian-Centric. Congrats on the win, I guess.
  7. Looking for metal equipment tag supplier

Does anyone have a good line on these? I have a request for 1000 serialized aluminum tags. 2 color (red background with white text). I'm unsure how that would work if they want the letters embossed/punched like a dog tag. If they don't, I'm thinking of cast laminated print on an aluminum backer...
  8. 250 years in the making!

I don't think they have made good use of their time. OFFICIAL WEBSITE OF THE U.S. SEMIQUINCENTENNIAL COMMISSION: The new logo was created in partnership with Chermayeff & Geismar & Haviv, the firm behind that very same Bicentennial logo. This design will be at the heart of our efforts over...
  9. Getting a firm (but not crushing) grip on your banana is going to cost you more than $2k + shipping

Seems like banana tech is advancing almost daily: Pretty interesting tool (the vice not the banana). I watched the Youtube episode from the Fireball Tool guy when he restored one from the 1920s. The updated (ripped off?) version from China looks like a nice piece of stainless kit, but I don't...
  10. I was thinking of picking up a Laserpecker to engrave my banana, thoughts?

Does anyone have one of these? Looks interesting. https://www.laserpecker.net/products/laserpecker-4
  11. Order now before they run out!

I thought their ToxicToad wrap was nice, this stuff is on a whole other level.
  12. Lexan bending questions

Not quite sign stuff but I did wrap them with 2080 matte black and did the logos on the outside along with all the police gear. I made a small vice-mounted brake so I could cold roll these light guards (they keep the LEDs from flashing back off the windshield into the driver's eyes) into shape...
  13. Kerry testified before the House Foreign Affairs Oversight and Accountability Subcommittee

I can't believe how unprofessional our Country has become. I was so ashamed I couldn't watch all the way to the end:
  14. Rainbow Month support?

It's that time again. Home Depot supplied diversity in my shop: Even a FATMAX 16' to fill the 'Body Positivity' slot.
  15. Isn't this interesting

We used to have a member here that would have loved this: https://metrorestyling.com/collections/toadaflage-camo-vinyl-wraps/products/toadaflage-toxic-camouflage-vinyl-wrap-film
  16. Looks like the Easter Bunny is going to be pretty sore this year

Potatoes on average are much larger than eggs. Have a good weekend all
  17. 3M IJ280?

Is this film out? Has anyone had a chance to test-drive it yet? I just got a push notice to come to Las Vegas to see it in person. From the spec sheet, it has a new v4 air-channel glue system and a 10yr 'service' life. Sounds too good to be true so I'm thinking they will want about $2k per roll.
  18. Has Artificial Intelligence gone too far?

    I say no!
  19. Any one have a full box of 3M 7125 24" x 10yd - any color? Need Shipping dims & weight

Need to quote a customer in the next hour or so and my supplier does not have the info I can plug into the USPS shipping calculator. I don't have a single box for a 24x10 roll that I can measure and weigh. Any help would be appreciated.
  20. 310.8

I just watched Ford v Ferrari (teared up a little at the end) last night and then ran across this: Humans are something else.
