I was thinking about using the Orajet 3551 and 290G laminate for a flat trailer wrap(no rivets). All nice flat surfaces but if this 290G starts to crack and fail I'll be screwed.
Seems your motherboard is still bad. You can contact Kent at Macmedia in NY state for repair he charges about $275 USD plus shipping. he will replace all transistors and such for this price. See you can't just replace the parts in a motherboard that are bad like your friend did. You have to...
I would assume pulling the battery works on all Mimaki's. As for the warranty it would be become void if they found out.
Be careful with expired inks they can harden up with time and clog the head requiring replacement(especially Latex inks). Solvent inks not so much unless its white or...
To use expired inks you can take the battery out of the motherboard for 5 mins and put it back in. It will reset the date to the time the printer was manufactured enabling you to use expired inks. I just recently did it with my JV400LX and it reset the date to March of 2014.
As for the ink...
I have one too I use as a back up to my JV33. Bought it used at a great price. However it is missing a few nozzles on the Cyan but I run in 32 pass and clears up banding about 90%. Runs dual CMYK. Had it almost 10 months. it's a smooth running printer. I'd say it's right on par with my JV33.
I sent them my JV33 board a couple months ago to get repaired and the whole process to send it in and get it back took only a week and cost me about $250. I was pretty impressed with their work and will definitely use Kent for his services again.
Just an update. Installed another DX5 from an older R1800 that was unlocked and it fires on almost all nozzles now(must have firmware 2.20). I guess it wasn't the gasket it was just a bad head. Still would like to know where to purchase the gasket from if anyone knows. Thanks
I'm having the same issue with my rubber gasket. It doesn't seem to seal correctly onto the manifold. All the channels are getting ink through them except for the left most magenta. I tried finding this rubber gasket online but to no avail. Anyone know where to get this gasket? I don't want to...
Well I replace the slider but as soon as I hooked it up it fried it again so I change the head with one from an Epson R1800 unlocked from 2010. I have firmware v2.20. Put in yet another slider with new head cables and this is the result. So I put in another new slider and same thing. As you can...
Do you think it could be a blown bulb. I had an issue recently with my JF-1631 where it blew a new bulb within 15 minutes at high lamp setting cuz the airflow lacked due to a dirty screen and the fan had lots of residue in it. I shop vac'd it out, cleaned the screen. Problem solved. Now I...
Yeah I think I just fried my slider as well on JV33. Luckily I have my JV400 Latex for a back up. The U1 chip gets really hot and a red light comes on right next to it. I replaced my 2 head cables and didn't have one of them perfectly flush and now I"m getting Head Memory 200 error...
1. Power off machine and unplug.
2. push head carriage all the way to left of machine to head access area.
3. pull off cover and carriage cover and remove the dampers of the problem colors
4. use a syringe with plastic tube filled with cleaning solution and connect to the nipple on the head...
Well after finishing out my job of 500 corrugated yard signs I came to the conclusion that the only reason the bulbs blew out was due to overheating. The coolant fans had a bit of residue not allowing for sufficient airflow. After I purchased the new bulbs I cleaned out the fans and the screen...
No I didn't have to touch the bulb because I bought it in the cassette case so I didn't even have to handle the bulb at all. It was a pretty easy replacement. Yeah I contacted DigiPrint Supplies but they won't cover it because I purchased this printer used 3 months ago and the guy I bought...
