There is a few twist and pull techniques but a calligraphy set is a good way to start because most strokes you learn with a steel pen transitions smoothly to a brush.
Also most all the strokes will be used in forming letters.
I recently came across a bunch of Signs of the Times magazines from the mid 50's to early 60's. These mags are full of history, designs, fonts for sign painters, etc.
The billboard ads and neon signs from the era are inspiring.

Yup bonded.. and this is the so called good stuff Magnum. I know customers should remove them often and even tell them, but the fact is they will not do it.
Anyone found a sound method for removing without damaging paint?

You can also do it with aluminum but you might want to sub it to a sign/fab shop if fabrication isn't part of your business. The foam method is a good idea also, good luck.
Let him install it if he wants to save money, let a pro install it to save a life.

Aluminum! hdu is going to be heavy, you need to build as light and strong as possible. You can use 2x2 angle also.
