Sorry for not getting back to you right away RockenGraphics...
I had one of these units installed in April and compared to my old roland UV flatbed this thing is a DREAM. Their is a lot more maintenance but I love that I can just call support and fix problems either remotely or over the phone...
Ill be able to tell you in 2 weeks...ours it on the truck coming our way. A lot of reason we went with this machine over the others. We were told this wasn't a rebranded cheap chinese machine: metal frames are build in India, actual printer build in the USA, at least the US version. Got samples...
I have 2 xrs(print/cut) of these machines, I'm going to assume they are probably the same print head assembly...I would look into damper replacement. If it is the same as the XRs, sadly they built these dampers into the head so they are a pain to change...if you have access to a service rep it...
On the older ones, yes. This one....can't even get at the damper without some pretty extensive teardown by my non-tech self...I like to older simple systems were you could actually tear in and have a change at getting somewhere. I have a couple hunks of junk I run and at least I can keep the old...
Ok, so the dampers are a completely different style than I've dealt with: they are on the head itself and require you to take apart the top of the head to get to them....I'm being told by 2 techs that changing them requires you to "chuck the heads" since they're under pressure or you get a mess...
The cap tops have been replaced in the last 6 months but at this point it can't hurt, I'll see if I have an extra around. I will check and see if I can even get to the dampers(weird head integrated dampers).
So one of my rolands is giving me trouble. Both are getting a bit long in the tooth so I figure I probably have a bad head...but I'll take any advice if someone has a solution. I've already cleaned the head, checked the ribbon cables, looks like the head is attached to everything properly...I've...
We've switched our 2 Roland solvent printers and our LEJ-640FT and we've never went back. The company we went through even guaranteed they will fix any issues that their ink causes on our machines...I couldn't even tell the difference between the new ink and the OEM stuff. Coast to Coast out of...
Old lightboxes that are "yellowed" could be burnt in by the florescent lights that were standard behind them(most are nice LEDs now) and will always backlight yellowed. Sometimes it's just smoke that can be cleaned, worth a try but usually doesn't cut it. I work in the arcade industry, I've seen...
Thanks! We recently cleaned and lubricated the bearing on the cutter side but maybe we need to get into the back of the print carriage side and get that one cleaned up as well. I'll post how it went once we get in there. I hope we don't need to get a part but who knows with this thing.
One of my Roland xr-640 roll to roll printer/cutters is giving me a headache. It will go on printing for 2 hours and then the carriage will "loose its way" or just randomly separates from the cutter via magnet and throw a 0010 or 0040 error. I turn the unit on and and off and I'm back up and...
I agree with Fbermudez, but I have 2 larger Rolands but I can say that if you take some alcohol to the belt that drives the carriage it can make a world of difference. One of mine was making the about the same noise and it was just a buildup of stuff in the teeth of the belt. It's more than...
Looking for info from users on the speed of the Stratojet Shark Flatbeds. Like how many boards per hour for real applications, not just draft mode. My company is fielding options to replace a dirt slow Roland and I need to try and compare to other printers and not the one I'm replacing, cuz...
He first claimed that people who own digitech printers didn't print on glass, then he claimed to be an expert on glass...then wouldn't give specifics like it was some kind of trade secret. None of these claims answered the question I asked. Let's be careful on who we call names.
