  2. Nix Print vs i1 Pro Color Management/Profiling

I am running hp 360 and 365 with onyx 19.5 and the built in i1s, I have had issues doing the advanced calibration on 19, and am hoping to find time to pick it up when I get 22
  3. Is your shop prepared for the upcoming barter system?

Working for a retail business and dealing with buyers for it I will tell you that an item is only worth what you can get for it. Look at chains like Ross and TJ Max, they take what wouldn't sell at the desired MSRP and sell it for less. I have seen new items come in and drop in price by half...
  4. Suggestions Upgrading one of my plotters. Graphtec or Summa?

I do full laminated 150' rolls on my FC9000. The take up has its quirks, I would definitely recommend getting a good demo on it so you understand what you are in for.
  5. Prints not curing

It was last cleaned when maintenance kit was done on about 2 years ago. So I will need to disassemble the curing unit and scrub it down?
  6. Prints not curing

I have been having an issue with prints from my 360 not curing. This has been on going for over a year sporadically and over the last few days it seems to be constant when I print matte vinyl and banner material. I have been thinking it might be related to the optimizer and replaced and out of...

  9. Suggestions Adding slitters to roll laminator?

I think I paid about $250-300 for the last single slitter I ordered. The Kala replaced a 4 year old RS 64" with take up that I purchased in my first year not knowing what kind of volume I would be dealing with having never dealt with laminator at this volume before, after 4 years the take up...
  10. Print and Class 2 Reflective Material

Can you print the barcodes on regular vinyl and apply them over the reflective? I am not sure of your work flow, but that is what I would try along with adding marks around the barcode for registration.
  11. Suggestions Adding slitters to roll laminator?

I appreciate this tip, I have had the Kala less than 6 months and had not considered this as an option. I was on the fence with between the Kala and top end GFP, then read some posts on here about the Kala's tracking; When my vendor said they had 10 in stock ready to deliver in a week I was sold.
  12. Suggestions Adding slitters to roll laminator?

I don't lower the blades until the material is on the take up so the cut material just rolls up with the rest of the material.
  13. Suggestions Adding slitters to roll laminator?

I'd like to hear about this laminator and slitter sensors. The Kala has auto leveling rollers so it skews very little if the set up is good. I have learned I am better running the full amount of prints I want to cut at once, because when my HP 360 and 365 stop and restart it knocks off the...
  14. Suggestions Adding slitters to roll laminator?

I bought the slitter bar with 2 slitters when I got a Kala last year, I am now up 5 and love the time it saves.

  18. Industrial Strength Hole Punch

You should look into getting a drill press that the litho/small format print shops have, you might even be able to sub it out if you have volume.
  19. Advice? Perf keeps eating my printheads

Sweet Summer child, you haven't had the joy of operating HP printers /s I hope mine die soon.
  20. Grimlite

The best RIP support I ever had was with Caldera on Linux, Onyx just makes excuse for their issues, but at least it is stable, doesn't crash like it did for me on Linux AND Mac, and if you know this type of work, you learn the workarounds. I am very pissed with how Onyx has let itself degrade...
