Text graying out in Illustrator CS5

One of our PC computers that is running Illy CS5 has suddenly decided to gray out text when we are moving it or when we are viewing in outline mode. I know it is a setting somewhere that got changed, but since I didn't do it... I have no idea how to change it back. I consulted the Great and Mighty Google, but I can't seem to phrase the question so that my results aren't all about changing fonts to outlines.

HI STACY!!!!

Hit your "ESC" key... if the copy shows up ok, then you have isolate on...

I can't stand that feature, Go to your top menu:
ILLUSTRATOR>PREFERENCES>GENERAL
and check to see if "Double Click To Isolate" is on... if it's on, turn it off, go back to your file, hit "ESC" and see if the copy is still gray... double click on an object, it should not isolate anything on the page...
