i finally broke down and soldered my own cable according to the gerber manual spec, and it works! i get some framing errors still, and an occasional S error, i'm not sure what they mean as they don't affect the functionality at all.
this cutter is sweet. for some reason flexisign was able to cut properly, but signlab and 3mdd2 needed to have the step size adjusted.
anyway, i'm cutting vinyl and clearbra now, and i just wanted to say thanks to everybody who opted to join me on my quest!
