Which Version to Buy?

I have been researching Adobe Photoshop and found there are several versions, CS 4 Extended, CS4, Lightroom, Photoshop Elements 7, Illustrator, etc.

I would assume CS4 is most applicable to the sign business but what do you guy think that have been using it? I hate to spend $600.00 on software I do not really need.

Plain Photoshop CS3 (or CS4 soon) is usually fine for most sign shops...

I have Photoshop CS3 Extended (as part of CS3 Design Premium Suite) and never use the "extended" capabilities.

As far as I know, CS4 is still only preorder only, but should be released in the next couple weeks.

Illustrator (mostly vector) is something different from Photoshop (mostly vector) . Both are relevant to sign and wrap design and you can get both in one of Adobe's "suites".
