Windows 7 - Corel X3 - Versaworks

I have a new windows 7 pro machine.

Installed corel x3....works fine.

Installed Versaworks, and installed the updates.
If I open Versaworks, and drag a jpeg from my desktop into it,
it works, and prints fine.

But, the problem is that neither Versaworks or sp300v shows up in my printer selections in Corel.

I was told by my Roland dealer it's because my printer only has a usb port, and they haven't created a driver yet for windows 7. ( no ethernet port )
Supposedly a windows 7 driver will be available in April.

There seems to be others here that have gotten it to work.

So, how did you get versaworks to show up in the Corel x3 printers list?

Thanks,
Tony

Versaworks

Hi Tony,
in corel you should click: file/publish to PDf.
open versaworks and open the pdf. you can also export as eps.
there is many posts on how to make your eps or pdf.
i do this all day long.
let me know how that works for you.

Hi Skye,

Thanks for the help...that does work, but different than I'm used to.

I have always printed to versaworks straight from Corel, without having
to export the file first.

Guess I will have to get used to a new way of doing it, at least until
Rolands comes up with a usb 7 driver.

Thanks again,
Tony

thanks javila,
I had already tried installing that way a couple times, and it won't work either.
Windows 7 doesn't see the driver, says "no information about your driver" and
"make sure your your software is compatible"

It's working fine exporting to pdf, it's just another step to the process.
Although doing that has shifted the colors slightly darker. But it's a new machine
and everything isn't tweaked yet. I've also noticed slightly darker color with the
color laser printer.

I'll just have to wait on the driver, or keep doing it the pdf way and get used to it.
