  1. Why is it that 80% of the posts are "issues" with digital printers or printing?

I couldn't agree with this post more! Outsourcing everything was the best business decision I've ever made. I worked remotely from Australia for two months this year and used Google Remote Desktop to connect my laptop to my PC back home. T-Mobile was $50/month for unlimited calls and texts. I...
  2. Why is it that 80% of the posts are "issues" with digital printers or printing?

For me, being on a Caribbean island, self help was an economic necessity. The machines are actually pretty easy to fix if you can find YouTube vids and/or access to tech info. Getting parts was never hard. I was always super proud when I could clear a code and get a machine back online myself.
  3. Why is it that 80% of the posts are "issues" with digital printers or printing?

Yup. We were originally a commercial offset printer specializing in forms. Those digital printers transformed my business into a full color operation. No more costly Pressman! Then I learned how to mount vinyl and make banners and signs watching YouTube videos. Along came Direct To Garment...
  4. Need Help Independent Service Techs Wanted for YouTube Show

I'm not a technician by trade. But, owning a shop on an island in the Caribbean meant I had to learn how to be one. Over the years, I became proficient at performing all service/repairs on my fleet of Bizhubs along with the Canon and Mimaki large format printers we had. I think your YouTube show...
  5. Epson ink increase again or just Grimco?

I've never been happier since I closed my shop and became only a reseller. I used to sweat all that stuff too.
  6. New client with a one-off project...wants to do ACH payment.

I get a lot of ACH payments from my larger clients and the local government. Don't be afraid...its totally legit and safe form of payment.
  7. Question Drytac Polar Grip Decals - Need A Supplier

I have a portable toilet client that I sell a few sizes of decals to on a regular basis. The only material that seems to stick to the plastic portable toilets is Drtyac Polar Grip. I used to make these in-house but my old Mimaki died so I'm now outsourcing everything. I'd like to find a...

I have only ever used Adobe software.
  9. Windows 11 experience

I use Windows 11 as my main work station for everything including graphic design. I have never had any issues and enjoy using it. I also have other workstations running on Win 10, Win 7 and Vista and all devices on the network run smoothly and communicate well. My Win 11 rig is a custom built...
  10. How to explain outsourcing?

Being able to outsource almost everything has enabled my wife and I to "semi-retire" and while retaining a good portion of our income. Its quite enjoyable to work this way and super profitable. Most customers have no idea we work from home and we have a great web site which makes us look bigger...
  11. "No More Walk-ins" - Good Idea, or Terrible Mistake?

After 50 years of having a shop in the same location, we semi-retired and went home-based with website last year. I've never been happier... no more having to deal with the walk-ins! The smallest customers are always the most time consuming.
  12. Inflation

My quotes are only valid for 30 days!!!!
  13. Buying A Sign Business

I bought a print shop from a old timer who, at 70, had had enough after 30 years in the business. He had no kids and just wanted to get rid of it. My wife and I bought his business for about $100K twenty years ago. We've never once regretted it and continue to profit from it everyday. Today...
