Since brand new cutter, I seriously doubt it's your cutting strip or the machine itself. The blade needs to be placed in the blade holder itself. Pushed all the way in bottoming it out, then turn screw adjustment knob until blade starts to poke out and can feel it with your fingertip. That's...- digitalartist71
