I’m curious about Gemini, never used them, I assume they would quote me a pretty high price to produce these letters. I’m going to get a quote just outta curiosity.
Ahh, yes 7, was a long day. Just thought gluing pads to them would be faster. Hadn’t considered drill and tap, worried I’d blow through the face with the tap.
So I'm new to using pad mounts on acrylic letters. Not sure how man pads are needed. Here is a 30" tall letter out of 1/2" acrylic to be mounted outside on brick. Would six 1" pads be enough and should only the top two have pins into the brick to allow expansion? could you pin mount 1/4" thick...
So a local coffee company contacted me for some signage.... This is their logo. WTF is it? They had a nice presentation from a design firm with three logo options but all three used this bug. I’ve seen the firms other quality design work so I’m 95% sure this logo was existing and the client...
I went with the 751 as I had already purchased it for the job. But I will look into the 3M you mentioned. Client wanted a quote for removal and I said $70hr, $100 minimum and that a buff out by a detailer may be required that I wouldn’t be liable for, will see if I regret that . Install went...
Why such a long stud? Haven’t got into pads yet but about to do some larger acrylic letters so I’m ordering some. Do you just use Weld-on 16 for the pads?
Yeah I had considered an aluminum cleat, how would you attach it to the acrylic sign? I guess I could have also added pads and pins, mounted it that way.
Well, can’t win them all I guess. Got a text the day after install.... the sign is on the ground shattered. I have used lexel and vhb on other signage in this same complex with no issue but never anything this large. The brick was a little extra uneven here. Lexel stuck great to acrylic and...
I’m new to the vehicle signage world. I have a client that wants his logo applied to his company van. He wants to trade the van in in about 18 months and wants to know if the vinyl will be removable without causing a lot of damage. I plan to use Oracal 751 in gloss white, black van in Texas...
I just used 2447 white acrylic cut 5/8 wide mounted about 1” from the face of the leds, you can see it in one of the pics. I tested several thicknesses till I found one with no hotspots. On a lighter colored wall you would get a much better halo effect, black wall sucks up 80% of the light.
Yes, I’m a one man shop at the moment so I can’t take on everything. Would like to upgrade to an Avid cnc with a real spindle or at the very least upgrade my v-bearing linear motion components to profile linear bearings. They are just consumer grade rgb strips as I’m not familiar with higher end...
