  4. wrapping over a wrap... any specific concerns I should be aware of?

I've printed everything on IJ180C, and laminated with Oraguard 290. I'm doing a 24' box truck & it has been wrapped before. The colors look pretty shabby because I think it had some kind of liquid laminate brushed on, which seems not to have worked, but it looks like a good air release vinyl...

Much appreciated gesture Dr. Tinko, you have done a great service to humanity, directly through your own selflessness & indirectly through contributing to Al's continued service to humanity!

  8. That is not a logo, that is a sign layout

hey, this thread reminds me of a post I made just yesterday: ..which I guess is to say that I don't think there is a universally understood definition... which is not to say I don't think there could be, or should be.. ...and I think we are as good a choice as any to do the deciding... One...
  9. Legal advice, somebody ripped off my design.

hell, in that scenario, just take their van too... you could just say your art on the side confused you.. oh, and to the guy 100 posts ago who said layout is not the same as artwork, and neither of them are the same as design... well, they do have different letters in 'em.. and on any...

  11. Gemini Letters on Steel Siding

that's for sure... first, I thought "sheet steel" sounds like a flat sheet, & although I've never seen siding like that, I figured I've never seen a pole barn either, but now you say "ribs" and it seems like it could be that serious corrugated stuff with a 1-1'2" wide corrugation every 12"...
  12. Who would you recommend for automatic file backups?

Casey made a suggestion to me last year & it has made my life easier... I was using a Dell server, and all my workstations wrote files to it, but I also ran quickbooks on it, so any workstation could work from & write to the same one set of books... ...anyway, for some reason there were...
  13. Design taken to another sign shop, should I say anything?

bill him, explain the other guys price was cheaper for a reason... your bill represents part of the reason... after that, if it was still cheaper... the remaining reason may start showing up in a year, when either the graphics fail, or the other sign business fails (or both)

  15. Software to Convert a 2D image to 3D file (DFX)

kinda what I thought of suggesting too... 3D is not quite the complete explanation it could be... I an a lithophane type image, but wanted a more accurate relief carving of a face, and Enroute can do an awesome job of that once you create a file, but Enroute wants highest sections to be white &...
  16. Software to Convert a 2D image to 3D file (DFX)

you can spend $10K, and you still won't find anything that makes what it sounds like you want, as easy as it sounds like you hope for.

  18. questions on cutting, prepping, & painting acrylic

lots of great replies.. I'm working today & can't write for very long but the bamboo has been used for over 4 years on all the walls on this clients vacation rental property. He coated it with a particular product that he offered to provide to me during the "no warranty" discussion... but then...
