I agree with insignia 100%, I left my Mimaki on overnight to and it ran out of ink sometime during the night, when I got in the next morning I put in a new cart in and it started printing right where it stoped. Not once did I ever get any type of gaps before.
I had that happened to me when I use to print with the CJ-500, I was ripping with Flexi at the time. Then my tech told me to use Roland's Colour Choice and the problem went away.
I have the Mimaki JV3-160spII and I get excellent colour from it, but I also make my own profiles. But the machine and tech surport are second to none here in Chicago.
Are you in Greece or Turkey?
Don't really know of any wholeseller sign frame co., but most suppliers will discount if you buy in high volume. Or you can allways buy direct from China and get them dirt cheap.
My Vutek is a hybrid, but I never printed any roll stock on it. But if I ever did I'm sure it will print just as nice as printing onto rigid substrates.
schmitty, Mimaki printers don't use sponges like Roland does.
I would check to see if the ink lines came undone at one of the ends. I had that happen to me once but I was using a bulk ink system and I forgot to close the clamp, never happened using cartages.
