I am not positive but I don't think they can be converted. The Sherpas were made with the commercial printing industry in mind to use for proofing. Couldn't hurt to look into it though.
Whats it made out of? When I took off my capping station there were actually 2 pads on each one and one of them (the one on the bottom) actually kind of looked like that!
I was thinking about Flexi, But I hear so many people complain about it as a program just like you said so I figure money might be better spent on something different.
I like my 62 that I bought! Although I can see your point about the 4 color models. I dont personally understand all these light cyan and light magenta colors. Maybe it's because my background is in commercial offset printing but in my opinion you can get stunning vivid results with just CMYK...
I have heard good and bad about Mutohs, I have an Outdoor 62" and its been good so far!

I am currently running some junk rip that I got for nothing but I am not happy with the color I am getting out of it (reds are orange, Yellows are green, etc.) and I do not know enough about changing around ICC profiles to even warrant...
I just bought the exact same printer for the exact same reason. I picked it up for a great price and I am very happy with it so far. I think that as long as you can get it for a good price you should go for it. It is working out to be a good first printer for us so far and is making us money...
